Thiriet by TDS Racing disputera l’European Le Mans Series et les 24 Heures du Mans 2016 (18 et 19 juin) avec un seul et unique objectif : gagner ! Pour y parvenir, l’équipe s’appuiera sur un équipage solide.

 

 

Le programme de Thiriet by TDS Racing sera tourné vers l’European Le Mans Series, championnat dans lequel le team engagera une Oreca 05-Nissan, chaussée de pneumatiques Dunlop et  décorée d’une nouvelle livrée signée Gaazmaster Motorsport, partenaire du team depuis des années. Sans aucun doute, l’équipe jouera les premiers rôles en LM P2, catégorie qu’elle connait bien pour en avoir été le champion en 2012 et vice champion en 2015.

 

 

Afin de parvenir à l’objectif fixé, décrocher les titres pilotes et équipes en ELMS, la structure de Xavier Combet et Jacques Morello s’appuiera sur un trio de pilotes renouvelé. Au centre de celui-ci, on trouvera Pierre Thiriet, fidèle à l’équipe depuis 2011. Il sera accompagné d’un homme qu’il connait bien, Mathias Beche, avec lequel il a été sacré il y a quatre ans. Le pilote Rebellion Racing LM P1 en Championnat du Monde FIA revient dans son équipe de cœur. Son arrivée intervient dans le cadre d’un partenariat entre TDS et Racing Rebellion Timepieces.

 

Le troisième homme sera Ryo Hirakawa. Le jeune pilote japonais possède déjà un palmarès conséquent. Après avoir commencé le karting en 2007 et gagné le Championnat Junior Kart japonais dés l’année suivante, l’homme de 22 ans (le 7 Mars) est devenu champion de F3 Japon en 2012. La même saison, il parvenait à être titré en Porsche Carrera Cup Japon avec sept victoires au compteur ! Depuis, il pilote à la fois en Super Formula Japon et en Super GT pour le compte de Team Tom’s. Cette année, Ryo Hirakawa découvrira l’endurance dans le cadre du Toyota Young Drivers Programme (TDP).

 

L’équipage restera inchangé pour les 24 Heures du Mans, véritable point d’orgue de la saison pour l’équipe. Ayant été invité par l’Automobile Club de l’Ouest, Thiriet by TDS Racing participera pour la sixième fois consécutive à la plus grande course d’endurance au monde. Après deux deuxièmes places en LM P2 décrochées en 2012 et 2014, l’écurie compte bien monter sur la plus haute marche du podium.

 

Thiriet Surgelés, deviendra un des partenaires marketing de Rebellion Racing. La marque sera présente sur les carrosseries des deux Rebellion R-One LMP1 engagées dans le Championnat du Monde d’Endurance FIA.

 

Rebellion Racing soutiendra Thiriet by TDS Racing par le prêt d’un de ses pilotes. Mathias Beche s’alignera au volant de l’Oreca 05 LM P2 n°46 lors des six manches de l’European Le Mans Series ainsi qu’au Mans. Le pilote suisse a piloté pour Thiriet by TDS Racing en 2011 et 2012, remportant le championnat ELMS en 2012 et terminant 2ème aux 24 Heures du Mans en LMP2.

 

Mathias BECHE : « Je suis très heureux d’être titularisé pour ma 4ème saison au sein du Rebellion Racing. Parallèlement à mon programme en Championnat du Monde d’Endurance en LMP1, je vais pouvoir m’aligner en ELMS, dans une équipe que je connais très bien et en partenariat avec Rebellion Racing. Revenir en LM P2 aux 24 Heures du Mans avec une voiture capable de jouer la gagne est très excitant. C’est une course que je rêve de remporter. Sportivement, je pense que le LM P2 sera cette année la catégorie la plus disputée. L’objectif est de taille : gagner le championnat et s’imposer aux 24 Heures du Mans pour porter haut les couleurs du Rebellion Racing et de Thiriet by TDS Racing. »

 

 

This season, Thiriet by TDS Racing team will enter the European Le Mans Series and the 24 Hours of Le Mans (June 18th and 19th) with only one goal : to win ! To achieve it, the team will rely on a solid line-up.

Thiriet by TDS Racing team program will be centered on the European Le Mans Series, in which the team will enter one Oreca 05 Nissan, equipped with Dunlop tyres, and with a new livery designed by Gaazmaster Motorsport, a faithful partner of the team. Without a doubt, the team will play the first roles in LM P2, a category the team knows well after being champion in 2012 and vice champion in 2015.

In order to achieve its goal, to be crowned as an ELMS Drivers and Teams champion, Xavier Combet and Jacques Morello’s team will rely on a renewed line-up.  Pierre Thiriet will be at the centre. The faithful driver integrated into the team since 2011. He will team up alongside a man he knows well, Mathias Beche, with who he was crowned four years ago. The Rebellion Racing driver in LM P1 in World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC) is coming back to his beloved team. His arrival corresponds to a partnership between TDS Racing team and Rebellion Timepieces.

The third man will be Ryo Hirakawa. The young Japanese driver has already a solid profile. After starting kart in 2007 and winning the All Japan Junior Kart Championship the following year, the 22-year-old man (on March 7th) became All-Japan Formula Three champion in 2012. The same year, he was crowned in Porsche Carrera Cup Japan with seven wins! Since then, he has been driving in Super Formula Japan and in Super GT for Team Tom’s. This year, Ryo Hirakawa will discover endurance as part of the Toyota Young Drivers Programme (TDP).

The line-up will remain unchanged for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the pinnacle of the season for the team. Being invited by Automobile Club de l’Ouest, Thiriet by TDS Racing team will enter the most famous endurance race of the world for the sixth time in a row. After two second places in LM P2 category in 2012 and 2014, the team wishes to climb up on the highest step of the podium.

Now, the members of the team are focusing on the first ELMS round which will be held in the United Kingdom, at Silverstone, on April 16th.
